Handicrafts, as creative industries, play a vital role in sustainable development and the economies of communities. Lalejin city in Iran, a global hub for pottery, is a prime example. However, studies indicate that potters in this city face a very high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), primarily due to a lack of ergonomic knowledge, insufficient oversight, and economic challenges. This issue threatens not only the workforce's health but also the continuity of this valuable cultural heritage. This policy brief aims to propose solutions to safeguard the potters' health by recommending collaboration among various institutions, including the state broadcasting organization, the University of Medical Sciences, the Cultural Heritage Department, the Education Department, and the Ministry of Science. The core of these solutions involves integrating continuous educational programs into mass media, virtual platforms, and educational curricula to enhance health literacy, particularly regarding the musculoskeletal system.
