  Instruction for authors

 The Journal of occupational hygiene engineering (JOHE) is a peer reviewed journal with the aim of publishing original contributions relevant to occupational health. The Journal of occupational hygiene engineering (JOHE) is a quarterly Journal published by Hamadan University of medical science. The JOHE is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. The journal of Occupational Hygiene Engineering does not use any mechanism for funding open access publishing such as Article Processing Charges (APCs). This journal publishes original papers, review articles, case reports, technical note, field studies, and letters to the editor.

 Preparation of manuscript

 The following Instruction refers to the Journal requirements for submitting your manuscripts for publication. The structure of manuscripts should be organized to include the following: title page, abstract, text, acknowledgments, references, figure legends, tables, and figures. Manuscript should generally use the following format: Introduction, and Methods, Results, and Discussion.

 Manuscripts should be typed in 12-point B Nazanin for Persian language and 11- point times New Roman for English language with margins of 2.5 centimeters on A4 paper with 1.5 lines space . Double spacing should be used throughout, and the right margin should be unjustified. All pages should be numbered consecutively on the bottom of the page. Originals and Field Studies should be limited to 3,000 words, excluding the abstract, acknowledgments, references, tables, and figure legends. Generally, Articles should fill no more than 12 pages and case reports no more than 5 pages.

 The title page must be included a concise and descriptive title, name of each author, affiliation of each author, the telephone and fax numbers as well as the e-mail address of the corresponding author, type of contribution, running title (not more than 40 letters including spaces).

 For all submissions except Letters to the Editor, structured abstracts should be between 200 to 250 words and should normally be organized under the following headings: Background and Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. It should be structured in Background and Aims, Methods, Findings and Conclusion followed by 3 to 5 Keywords selected from from main headings listed in Medical Subject Headings in Index Medicus, published by the National Library of Medicine ( http://www.nlm .nih.gov/ mesh/MBrowser.html). Unstructured abstract should reflect the content concisely in less than 100 words.

 Tables and figures should be of adequate quality to withstand reduction in size. Each table and figure should be submitted on a separate A4 sheet. Their locations in the text should be indicated in the right margin of the text. Only 5 or fewer tables and figures are permitted in total. Each table and figure should constitute a single unit of communications; that is, it should be completely informative in itself without reading the body of the text.

References

 The style of references should follow the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (Vancouver Style) (http://www.icmje.org/). Please refer to the examples of references listed at the end of these instructions. List all authors when there are six or fewer; when there are seven or more authors; list the first three authors, followed by “et al.” References should be numbered according to the order in which they appear in the text and should be listed at the end of the text. Examples of references are as follows:

 Ethic

 If a study has involved any contact with human subjects, authors should state in their methods section that their institutions review board has approved the study proposal as well as the manner in which informed consent was obtained from subjects. Authors should also follow the principles outlined in the declaration of Helsinki of the world medical association.

Manuscript peer review process

All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. To save time for authors and peer-reviewers, only those papers that seem most likely to meet our editorial criteria are sent for formal review. Manuscripts judged to be of potential interest to our readership are sent for formal review, typically to two or three reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice; from among several possibilities include Accept, minor revision, major revision and Reject. Reviewer selection is critical to the publication process, and we base our choice on many factors, including expertise, reputation, specific recommendations, and our own previous experience of a reviewer's characteristics. 

Manuscript submission

 Manuscripts should be submitted online through the web site at http://johe.umsha.ac.ir/ . After registration, authors can login and follow the submission process and upload their manuscript. The submission tool generates an automatic reply which incorporates the manuscript number for future correspondence. Manuscript must be accompanied by a cover­ing let­ter to the Editor-in-Chief, in­cluding title and au­thor(s) name and under­taking that it has not been pub­lished or sub­mitted elsewhere. If there are any problems, please contact Managing Editor through E-mail: joheumsha.ac.ir .

Ethic

Plagiarism
The authors are not allowed to utilize verbatim text of previously published papers or manuscripts submitted elsewhere.
Conflict of interests
Any information regarding the potential conflict of interests related to various aspects such as financial support by commercial firms, etc… should be disclosed in manuscripts to help clarify this issue.
Proofs 
To avoid typographical errors, the article is returned to the corresponding author to be proof-read before the final submission. 
Publication Expenses 
The corresponding author at no extra cost will be provided with a PDF file of the article via e-mail. The PDF file includes a coversheet with the journal cover image. In addition, three hard copies of journal for each article will be provided free of charge for the corresponding authors. The hard copies of journal will be submitted for national authors but not international authors.
