مقدمه: هنگام انجام فعالیت فیزیکی در محیط های گرم، تعریق همراه تبخیر مهمترین پاسخ فیزیولوژیک بدن، افزایش می یابد که می تواند منجر به دهیدراسیون شود. کمبود آب می تواند در دراز مدت اثرات نامطلوبی بر اندام های حیاتی بدن بگذارد. هدف از این مطالعه تعیین استرس گرمایی و بررسی وضعیت دهیدراسیون در کارگران شاغل در محیط های گرم بود.

روش بررسی: این مطالعه توصیفی تحلیلی روی 90 نفر از کارکنان شاغل در کارخانه قند که در مواجهه با گرما بودند بصورت تصادفی انتخاب شدند. ضربان قلب و دمای دهانی با استفاده از ضربان سنج قلب و دماسنج دهانی سنجیده شد، شاخص WBGT و پرسشنامه HSSI تکمیل، وضعیت دهیدراسیون توسط رفلکتومتر سنجیده شد. داده ها با استفاده از آزمون های آمارtest  t-و paired t-test و  chi-square توسط نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 20 مورد تحلیل قرار گرفت.

یافته ها: میزان تنش گرمایی شاغلین بر مبنای شاخص WBGT، در 44/5 موارد از حد مجاز توصیه شده (27/5) بالاتر شد، بر اساس حدود توصیه شده دهیدراسیون، 8/5 درصد افراد درجاتی از کم آبی و حدود 4/63 درصد آنها کاملا دچار دهیدراسیون و 28 درصد افراد از کل افراد دچار دهیدراسیون شدید هستند. میانگین وزن مخصوص ادرار با رفلکتومتر   0/043±1/025 بود. بین دمای زیرزبانی، ضربان قلب با وزن مخصوص ادرار،  شاخص تنش گرمایی و استرین گرمایی رابطه معنی دار وجود دارد(0/05 > P).

نتیجه گیری: درصد بالایی از جمعیت مورد مطالعه درجاتی از دهیدراسیون را داشتند که بر اساس این نتایج نگران کننده می باشد. برنامه ریزی در جهت آموزش و تعیین رژیم مصرف مایعات جایگزین ضروری می باشد.
